Growing enough cotton for a single conventional bedsheet can use up to 10,000 litres of water. Organic cotton farming uses significantly less, because it relies on rainwater rather than irrigation, and healthier soil retains moisture more efficiently. Wash your organic cotton bedding in cold or warm water (up to 40°C) on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Tumble dry on low or line dry — organic cotton bedsheets dry relatively quickly and hold their shape well. Avoid high heat, which can weaken the fibres over time. With the right care, they'll soften and improve with every wash.

Yes organic cotton bedsheets are naturally breathable, allowing air to circulate and heat to escape rather than build up beneath the covers. That said, weave and construction matter as much as the material itself. A sateen weave, for instance, has a denser surface that can feel warmer, while a lightweight weave like cotton voile allows significantly more airflow. For hot sleepers, organic cotton bedsheets in a looser, open weave are the better choice — and the most breathable option in our range.
