Sheet Washing — Simplified

Many of you have asked for tips and tricks to keep your Sunday sheets in tip-top condition. We’re all about keeping things simple:

First, wash your sets on cool with mild detergent, and avoid fabric softeners and powdered detergents. Second, line dry or tumble dry on low. Third, avoid products containing benzoyl peroxide, chlorine bleach, or alpha hydroxy acids.

To take a load off laundry day, you can also try some of our favourite laundry hacks to more effectively remove accidental stains and grime build-up.

1) SOS: stains!

Tackling stains can be tricky. If you’re unsure of the type of stain you have, always rinse it with cold water first as heat can cause certain stains like blood or sweat to set. We also like to soak stains with a stain remover overnight before putting our sheets to wash.

2) Liquid not powder

When it comes to choosing detergents, we’re #TEAMLIQUID — specifically Fer A Cheval Natural Laundry Liquid. Unlike powdered detergents, liquid mixes well in cool water settings, doesn’t clump, and leaves no residue.

3) Keep clean

Unwashed sheets play host to dead skin cells, microorganisms, and dust mites. Wash your sheets with hypoallergenic detergent regularly, but don’t forget everyday habits like showering before you get under the covers can help too!

4) Wash separately

Avoid washing your bedding with clothing as zippers and hooks can cause abrasion. Washing your sheets separately can also prevent other laundry from balling up in the fitted sheets.
